If you purchase certain digital toll products as a consumer online in the ASFINAG-Mautshop or via the ASFINAG app, you are entitled to a 14-day right of withdrawal. This right applies to all online purchases made by consumers within the European Union.

This period allows you to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days without providing a reason.

Since withdrawal is also possible by post, ASFINAG additionally accounts for 3 days for postal delivery.
 Therefore, validity begins at the earliest 18 days after purchase.

Which products are subject to the 18-day rule?

The 18-day rule applies only if you purchase the following products online as a consumer:

• Digital 2-month vignette
• Digital annual vignette

These products can be used immediately:

The following digital products can be used immediately, even if purchased in the ASFINAG-Mautshop as a consumer:

• Digital 1-day vignette
• Digital 10-day vignette
• Digital route toll for a single trip
• Digital route toll for multiple trips
• Digital route toll FLEX

Example of the 18-day rule

You purchase a Digital annual vignette in the ASFINAG-Mautshop as a consumer on January 15.

• The earliest start of validity is February 2.
• Only from this day are you allowed to use the toll road network.

For the Digital 2-month vignette, you can manually select a later start date for validity (e.g., April 5), but not earlier than 18 days after purchase.

Consumer

You are considered a consumer if you purchase a digital toll product in the ASFINAG-Mautshop for private purposes.
 In this case, the consumer protection period applies.

This period does not apply to purchases:

• at a toll station

• from an authorized online distributor

• from a distributor on-site

• at ASFINAG vending machines

In these cases, you can purchase digital toll products for immediate use, and there is no right of withdrawal.

Entrepreneur

You are considered an entrepreneur if you purchase as part of your business activities.

In this case, you can purchase all digital toll products in the ASFINAG-Mautshop  or via the ASFINAG app for immediate use, and there is no right of withdrawal.

If you cannot wait for the 18-day period when purchasing a Digital 2-month vignette or Digital annual vignette, you can obtain a digital toll product with immediate validity from a local distributor.

Note: When purchasing on-site (e.g., toll station, distributor), you do not have a right of withdrawal.
