License plates from Austria
- Instead of crests, stickers, or spaces, please enter a hyphen after the district code.
(Example: „W‑12345A“ instead of „W 12334 A“) - If you are using a special license plate (government, diplomatic, military, or black license plate), please activate the option „I do not have a standard license plate“.
License plates from Germany
- Instead of crests, stickers, or spaces, please enter a hyphen after the district code.

- For electric vehicles, please make sure to also enter the „E“ at the end of the license plate.

Digital Vignette – The best solution for interchangeable license plates
The Digital Vignette is linked to the license plate.
This means:
- You only need one Digital Vignette
- You can use it for up to three vehicles registered under the same interchangeable license plate.
Advantage:
One Digital Vignette covers all vehicles with the interchangeable license plate.
You can purchase the Digital Vignette in the ASFINAG‑Mautshop.
Sticker Vignette – Required for each vehicle
The Sticker Vignette is linked to the vehicle.
This means:
- You need a separate Sticker Vignette for each individual vehicle with the same interchangeable license plate.
No. For trailers, sidecars for motorcycles, caravans, and similar vehicles, no additional vignette is required.
For toll obligations, only the towing vehicle counts.
As long as the towing vehicle has a maximum permissible weight of up to 3.5 t, one vignette for the towing vehicle is sufficient.
The weight of the trailer or sidecar does not matter.
If you have not received an email after your purchase, please follow these steps:
1. Check if the purchase was fully completed
- Open the ASFINAG‑Mautshop.
- Ensure that no products remain in the shopping cart.
- The order confirmation is only sent after a successful purchase.
2. Wait a moment and check your email inbox
- Delivery can take up to 15 minutes.
- Also check your spam or junk mail folder.
3. Check your ASFINAG account
If you made the purchase while logged in:
- Open the section „My Products“ or „My Purchases“.
- If the product is displayed there, you can download the invoice and order confirmation at any time.
4. Verify product validity before driving
Before driving on toll roads, ensure that you have a valid product:
- Visit evidenz.asfinag.at – simply enter the registration country and license plate number.
