Yes. You can change the vehicle license plate for free in your ASFINAG account before the validity begins.
Note:
If you purchased your digital Mautprodukt from an authorized online distribution partner (e.g., ADAC, Autopay, Tolltickets), you must change the license plate there.
How to change the license plate before the validity begins in the ASFINAG account:
Log in to your ASFINAG account.
Go to „My Products“.
Select the relevant product.
Change the vehicle license plate and save the change.
The change is free and takes effect immediately.
How do I create an ASFINAG account?
I purchased a toll product but cannot see it in my ASFINAG account. What should I do?
Yes, but only under certain conditions.
After the validity has started, you can change the license plate for the following products:
Digital Annual Vignette
Digital Route Toll Multi-Trip Card
Service Digital Route Toll FLEX
A license plate change after the validity has started is only possible in certain cases.
In which cases can I change the license plate?
You can change the license plate if one of the following reasons applies:
Relocation to another political district
Total loss
Theft/loss
License plate illegible/damaged
Registration or deregistration of a personalized license plate
First-time switch to a vehicle with pure electric drive or hydrogen fuel cell technology
If none of the above reasons apply, you can change the license plate once per validity period without providing a reason.
Important note: For every license plate change, the registration owner must not change.
Where can the license plate change be carried out?
In your ASFINAG account under „My Products“
Please upload the required documents.
Directly at the toll station
Please present the order confirmation and required documents on-site.
At ÖAMTC and ARBÖ
Please present the order confirmation and required documents on-site.
Costs
Processing fee: 18 euros
The amount will be refunded after a positive review of the documents in the following cases:
Loss/theft
Total loss
Damaged license plate
First-time switch to an electric vehicle or hydrogen fuel cell vehicle
At the toll station and at ÖAMTC and ARBÖ, you do not need to pay the processing fee in these cases.
The license plate change in the ASFINAG Mautshop is initially only provisional. Only after you receive confirmation via email from us will the license plate change be definitively accepted.
Please note:
If the license plate change cannot be confirmed, the Digital Annual Vignette and the Digital Route Toll Multi-Trip Card will be reverted to the old license plate.
The Service Digital Route Toll FLEX will, in this case, be transferred to the new license plate without the already collected trips.

If a typo is present, you can change the license plate after the validity begins for the following products:

• Service Digital Route Toll FLEX
