If you use the Prepaid Only lane on the section toll segments of the A 9 (Bosrucktunnel and Gleinalmtunnel), the A 13 (Brenner motorway) and and the S 16 (Arlberg expressway), you need a valid section toll ticket in advance. The possession of a vignette is not sufficient here.  

Section tolls are charged on sections that incur above-average costs for construction and maintenance.

If you drive on a section toll segment without a valid section toll ticket, you will receive a substitute toll request (Austria, Switzerland) or an information letter (European Union).

You can avoid the initiation of administrative penalty proceedings by paying the substitute toll in full and on time.

Please check whether the information on your receipt is correct (vehicle license plate number, state of registration, toll section).

If a section toll segment is used without a valid section toll ticket, the owner of the registration will receive a substitute toll request (Austria, Switzerland) or an information letter (European Union).
