ASFINAG has been dedicated to the safety of motorcyclists for many years. Unfortunately, accidents involving motorcycles occur repeatedly across the entire road network. The most common types of accidents are rear-end collisions and accidents during lane changes, often happening on on-ramps or off-ramps.

We rely on statistics as well as feedback and assessments from ASFINAG employees who are motorcyclists themselves.

To enhance safety, concrete barriers are increasingly being used on ramps, in tighter curves, and in the median strip instead of guardrails, thereby reducing the need for underride protection. Experts believe that underride protection is only practical on designated "motorcycle routes," which do not include Austrian motorways.
