Parking
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the selected category Rest Areas: ParkingAll questions - Parking
ASFINAG Rest Areas:
At an ASFINAG rest area, you can park your vehicle without any time restrictions in a designated parking space. During the parking period, the vehicle must have a license plate attached, and a valid vignette must be available for the license plate.
Service Stations:
Service stations are not operated by ASFINAG but are leased to operating companies. At service stations, long-term parking is generally not permitted, as the parking spaces are reserved for the customers of the service station.
Please note that some service stations have short-term parking zones established by the operators. Therefore, always pay attention to the signage on-site. If you have any questions or uncertainties, please contact the operator or the service station directly.
We are required to close parking areas if they no longer meet legal requirements. Smaller and outdated parking areas, in particular, are often not adequately equipped to meet the increasing demand for parking spaces and modern infrastructure. However, we are gradually replacing closed parking areas with modern rest areas that are better tailored to the needs of road users.
In general, we ensure a sensible distribution of rest areas: approximately every 20 kilometers, there should be either a service station, an ASFINAG rest area, or an ASFINAG parking area.
Our primary concern is to provide a sufficient number of parking spaces – and thus opportunities for breaks. At the same time, we are continuously improving the quality of our rest areas to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
